I supposed this is a Wally impersonator. Why would wally want to be paid for output? Specially on long time projects without deliverables.
Zero output means zero pay.

Yep. Paid by output indeed. Company saves a ton of money and simply does not pay wallly unearned monies. LOLZ!

It looks like Wally basically wants to be a freelancer of some kind. Is it possible for engineers to work that way? I have already realized Wally's dream, but then I'm no engineer.

five o'clock? what engineer is given work that could be realistically completed within alloted time? indeed, what engineer has not been volunteered to work unpaid overtime and weekends regularly?
