And for those who don't know what the !$%* represents (I did my best to spell it out) - the word rhymes with prawn, and sounds like a piece on a chessboard. (The ones there are 16 of.)

OK. For those who don't get it... [draws deep breath]... SOME people believe that most of those who use the internet and play computer games are creepy bearded guys - overweight, ponytails (like the guy who runs the comic shop in the Simpsons, say) who spend most of their hours looking at !$%* while eating potato chips and *blush* pleasuring themselves. And then reaching for the tissues. How do I know this? Don't ask.

The joke that I get from this is that Dogbert is proud of finding a meaningless insight from his research. I take it as a spoof on the consulting industry.
