'Enterprise stands on middle management.'
While they may be helpful, I really think enterprise stands on the worker. I had a friend who worked for a major soft drink company that acquired a wine division. It lost money. They laid off employees, but not management, until they finally had to close it due to no-one doing the work.

You may be wrong for two reasons:
1) Steve Jobs, Bill Gates etc
2) I've been middle management for some years. Every time I failed, I got fired. Should have been CEO until now :-)
@BritTim agree. Lots of top managers think they're special, truth is they're mostly dispensable. Enterprise stands on middle management. Top management is place for people who are not useful anymore. It's a junkyard for used faithful staff or simply for good friends/family members of other top managers :)
