If advice and anti-advice collide do they mutually cancel each other? And does that merely leave the problem unsolved or does it create a new problem?

Dilbert actually wants to do the project - Wally wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Give the project to the Elbonians and you could claim for the next ten years that it was still "in process".

@AXEMSIAmen! I had one of those while I was an intern during college. Luckily one of the people who knew what they were doing took me under his wing. I thank the gods of all things electronic they did.

The 'What Not To Do' theory often worked for me. I had one or two managers I could ALWAYS count on getting it wrong. Doing the opposite really did work.

Anyone in the IT Profession has probably at one time had an IT Director who know nothing about the profession.
