Some organizaions are pushing the documents though Document scanners, and then trashing the paper. Banks have been doing this for a while now. My wife built up a division in her old company that did a Milliion dollars their first year doing this scanning. She had to send back the paper to the storage ware house. But it could have easily gone to the recycling center.
