@DesultoryPhillipic

You misunderstand me. I don't advocate the TSA stuff any more than I advocate the more extreme measures they're currently taking (or about which we're currently learning which probably began long ago). My statement was not in defense of the restrictions on flying posed by TSA and Homeland Security. I detest Homeland Security and its ever widening scope. It was simply a way of saying that no matter how bad we've seen it in the past, it continues to get worse.
In my opinion, the government has no right to invade our freedom or privacy in any of the aforementioned ways (or in any new ways they may find in the future).

@sweetnsilly

Perhaps you should concentrate more on the sweet part and less on the silly in your comments.
Certain types of grass (elephant grass comes to mind) can cut you to shreads while Venus Fly Traps are only deadly to flies. The only legitimate purpose of government is to protect the rights of it's citizens, not trample them.

@SwimsWithSharks

There's a world of difference between regulations to keep flying safe (which can be avoided by anyone who simply chooses NOT to fly) and regulations that allow the stripping away of our most basic right to privacy in what is meant to be the safety of our own homes.
There is no way to avoid the invasion anymore. There is no choice we can make to ensure our privacy. We can choose not to fly if we want, but we have no control over the wire taps on the general public, the spying on every aspect of our lives without our consent, the ever increasing scrutiny into the motives for everything we do....

Your analogy is as accurate as a comparison between a blade of grass and a venus fly trap. Yes, they're both plants, but only one is carnivorous.

Did Scott say much about the Patriot Act? Funny how certain people got uppity about their personal privacy after "Hope" took over in 2008.

All those times Scott went through the airport 2000-2008, and not one TSA strip? Or am I forgetting something.

Yeah, either you're with us or you're against us. Now drink this disgusting-tasting lime drink and we'll see if we can flush the terrorists out.
