If Dilbert' s pay is equal to ruining 80% of his day, the he is losing 100% of it.
That´s the trick to a healty life. A full wallet sometimes does not worth it.

rxantos: Dilbert is a professional engineer; it would be immensely surprising if he wasn't an exempt (fixed price for variable hours) employee.

At least he was offered an incentive. I've never worked for a place where I got an incentive to produce more, and when I was hourly, I would be chastised for putting in OT. Most places didn't even give any kind of bonus. And the website I write for now--they offer small (teeny-tiny) incentives that come with so many strings, it's almost impossible to earn them.

I agree exactly. PHB should have said "If you finish an extra project in twelve months".
I understood "your project" to mean the one he was already working on. So, 5% raise.
