How about Scotts "Dilbertization committee" Idea. Get people together, and ask "What are we doing that would make a good Dilbert cartoon. and how do we stop it?

General Dilbert question: does anyone remember seeing Dilbert 1) at a trade show, or 2) working on a weekend? Two things engineers do (even if only occasionally).

> Whatever happened to excellence, valued experience, and pride of workmanship?

That America disappeared around late 70s. You're about 30 years late.

Friend of mine who works for a power company in a state other than mine is now experiencing the fears of going through an evaluation by some other company to see who should be fired and who retained. This is insanity. The effort to save money by "purchasing" lower salaried employees to fatten a company's bottom line is mythological, I suspect. Whatever happened to excellence, valued experience, and pride of workmanship? The wheels are coming off this place...who needs paranoia every time you show up to work?

@swimswithsharks The 'hire' guy hasn't been hitting his head against the wall, he is, I think, one of those huge headed fellows from StarTrek.
