I think Dogbert plan is to become CEO of the company after all the dead weight is gone, at least long enough to get a huge amount of cash and severance. Oh, and only after he's collected a nice consultant fee.

Big company bosses love the idea of quitting because they can get huge million dollar payouts for leaving the company.

Didn't apple originally force Steve Jobs out.... before he came back as the untouchable holy prophet of all things apple and having started a few other successful companies in the meantime.

Isn't Dogbert violating the first rule of consulting: tell the customer what they want to hear? Firing lots of employees is OK, but I somehow doubt they want to fire themselves.
