Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.
The bastard didn´t specify whose perspiration it was.
I wouldn´t be surprised if he stole that phrase too.

@garrisonaw: The Hyperloop isn't a high speed train. It is a "5th" mode of transportation if you don't count manual forms like walking and biking.

In most cases I'd agree with the sentiment of this comic; however, I have no doubt that if Elon Musk wasn't already the CEO of two other major companies and chairman of a third, that he could pull this off. If you read the paper and follow some of the public comment especially the computer simulation, Hyperloop is technically feasible, and for significantly less money than the current "high speed" train being proposed from LA to San Francisco.

This reminds me of something Isaac Asimov once said. People would come up to him and say they had a great idea for a story; he could write it and they would split the proceeds. Needless to say, didn't ever happen.

"Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.

Thomas A. Edison"

Such an interesting quote; so accidentally apropos. Edison's primary accomplishment was gathering legions of people to do the hard work for him and then take the credit for it. He was an extraordinary entreprenuer, but had the scientific talent of a house cat.

Helmut Schmidt, a former German Chancellor, once said thet people who have a vision should go see a doctor. He just might have foreseen what will happen to the CEO next!
