When I was a kid in high school I had the concept for a hand held calculator - I had no idea how to make one, but, many years later, I always carry a simple one in my left hand pocket to do small stuff, like figuring out my checkbook. I can hardly wait until we get to anti-gravity vehicles - talk about selling your GM stock short....

Don't knock 'pseudoscience'. A lot of people are making a good living of of UFO's, Bigfoot, channelling, and dozens of other quack nonsense ideas.
Excuse me while I put my razor blades under my plastic pyramid.

Back in time, there was the idea of mainframes and intelligent people using dumb terminals. Technology has come full circle. Except that the terminals are smarter and people are dumber.

If everyone is taught the same theoriestechniques in college, they will invent using them I have found those that are more self taught tend to be more creative/inventive. Case in point are musicians who never took lessons tend to create more innovative music whereas schooled musicians tend to create assembly line music.
