I had the option to connect my personal phone to the company network and get emails and notifications. I took the stance that if they wanted me to be tethered to the company 24/7, then the company was going to pay for my phone. Since they didn't offer, I didn't volunteer. Another issue was the company's ability to wipe my phone remotely at any time. I didn't like the idea of losing all my photos and contact information because some key monkey pressed the wrong button accidentally. (Actually happened once... someone said "What does this do?" and lots of people lost personal data.
I work for a telco and I have both personal and business phone for many reasons:
1) If I have to connect my laptop wirelessly somewhere I use the work phone and don't have to sweat the data usage.
2) If I have personal exchanges on text or KIK or any other application - I don't necessarily want that going through a company asset that they have every right to competely monitor
3) I don;t want to be called by company contacts when I am on vacation - the work phone stays at home.
Two phones is the best solution by far.
