Easy idea, we could lie to management about the workload we are doing so we could instead focus on innovation. It does mean current projects might fail but really... they were going to fail anyway.

Reminds me of a meeting called by the Managing Director (too small a company to have a CEO) after several people quit and moved to a competitor.

We got together and listed our gripes before the meeting. We thought we would start with a small one and work up to the big ones.

Meeting starts and MD asks what they could do to improve working conditions. We tentatively put forward the idea of flexi-time.

It was immediately shot down in flames by the MD.

So we all kept quiet about the bigger issues and started job hunting at the end of the meeting.
