TBH every union I've been about has been the same. I mentioned that one though because I was up front told thats why I was being let go.
Others had been similar, but they had excuses to let people go as opposed to being honest about it. In this case I even watched a couple of guys chew out their supervisor repeatedly and never even so much as get talked to by the manager. The 2 laziest individuals and they were hard set into their jobs and untouchable thanks to the union. They should NOT have been working with the mouths they had toward that woman. And its not like they had a hard job (quality inspection. Easier than sin to do. You look at the product and note any defects if any, and pass/fail it and send the bad back) but they had the most complaints of anyone in the plant.
I won't say all unions are that bad, but most I've seen will have at least a couple people like this. That will abuse the system to their benefit and somehow get away with it. While the hard workers at the bottom are punished for trying hard to get work done and done right. Topping that is how pay often benefits the same way. Lazy long time workers get more for less, while the harder working individuals get near on nothing and still have to pay full dues.
