From my own experience in the corporate world - and I'm now retired, so I have a rather long tunnel to look down - believing in management trends and fads only facilitates the !$%*!$%*!$%*! of a skilled leader into a pointy-haired baboon. Deception of any kind is transparent to most employees, and breeds resentment rather than loyalty. One of my most awkward moments came when my most hated, micromanaging and egocentric bosses took me to lunch in order to feign camaraderie and concern. I virtually had no appetite, and detested him all the more for his dissmulation.
