As I wrote two days ago when the holacracy thing started, it was just a matter of time before PHB would go get lessons from the guru.

This strip reminded me the days I was working as a programmer in a startup that just gave it's IPO, and the owner that knew nothing about technology got rid of the leading technical innovator, and started walking around in the cubicles being "interested." I took the advice of one of the other programmers to talk enthusiastically about the details of what I'm doing which could mean nothing to the "interested." Sure enough he never camped at my cubicle again.

"look busy"? To whom exactly? Aren't the people who can report on your laziness the same ones that can see through the lack of work somebody will be doing when they aren't actually doing that much.

I'd have to pull out one of my favorite lines: I'd like to help you out! Which way did you come in??

I didn't know about Camping Carl - thanks, geness! Yes, I've known people like that. (and if all else fails, claiming to have 'explosive diarrhea' will let you get out fast, past anyone...)

Camping Carl!

I have a neighbor just like this and he nabbed me just this afternoon. It took a hour to just get the mail.

The PHB should at least have indicated his recognition of Wally's greatness and begged permission to study the guru's methods. Wally would probably have jerked the PHB's chain anyway, but a bit of flattery was worth trying.
