Oddly enough I was thinking about the phrase "comparing apples and oranges" just recently. Hmmm? Am I prescient or has Scott Adams bugged my apartment? It's a phrase meant to highlight comparing two different things but in fact apples and oranges are more similar than different. They both grow on trees, they both contain seeds, have a skin, edible, etc. Now comparing apples and say a Peruvian llama? There're two things not comparable...
This rings so true. All of us just accept phrases thrown at us without critical thinking. Like communism anchors one wing of political thought and Nazi-ism is its opposite foe. In reality, communism is the extreme totalitarian rule and nationalist socialism is just one degree removed also totalitarian Actually anarchy and libertarian are on the opposite end of the political spectrum. John Birchers are branded as extremists when in reality they are moderates who believe in limited government and are balanced in between the two extremes of totalitarianism and anarchy. The same spot where the Constitution balances the two extremes. But moderates are I suppose the extremists who block totalitarians and libertarians from their respective political dreams.
Look for other ways the facilitators impregnate you with false thoughts.
It is good that Wally and Dilbert are critical thinkers instead of passives who just let phrases and ideas be poured into their minds.
