Partial lack of self awareness is mandatory at the project lead level. Gradual increase in the delusion of competence continues throughout the management track. By PHB level, the delusion overrides all input and begins to impose it's own reality in a widening sphere of influence. At CEO level it begins to overlap similar spheres creating what the rest of us call the business world. Similar spheres are found in politics and academia, all mutually contradictory and mutually existing. At this point they ARE reality. And we're doomed.

I wonder if real indecent CEOs know they are, or if self-delusion is a job requirement.

Oh my God, he's drooling. The CEO is going to come back to a smoking crater.

"The power has gone to my head and has obliterated my last crumb of human decency"

Good, PHB is starting to think like a CEO.

Obliterating any last crumb of human decency is a per-requisite for being a successful CEO.

BTW:
Will Wally cover for PHB? He is the most qualified after all.
