Does not understand the idea until Dilbert explains it 17 times [Scoff: check!] When finally understanding the idea, recognizes that it is brilliant [Claims credit: check!] Needs an implementation before bonus time [Doubles workload: check!!!] Lesson: keep your good ideas to yourself.

*Sigh* Welcome to my world. I really wish it was so funny. If the PHB ever uses his idea, Dilbert will have to thank and congratulate him for it. Pretty much the only thanks I ever receive is "No thanks!"

If the idea works, PHB will take the credit.

If the idea does not work, Dilbert will take all the blame.

If the idea works at first and then falls, PHB will take the credit at first followed by blame on Dilbert part.

If the idea is bad at fist but later works. PHB will blame Dilbert and then turn around an explain how his brilliant leadership save the day.

Interesting game, the only way Dilbert can win it is by not playing.

what about the idea that is contorted, misconstrued, exaggerated and reshaped to the point that the PHB assigns some tasks that've been on his plate for ages but he can't do it, and doesn't want to hire anyone that's skilled and/or qualified to actually get it done

You scoff at it, but still steal it and double his workload.
Works! -> you get the credit. Doesn't -> not your idea anyway.
Sounds like every idea Dilbert might've had and brought to the PHB's notice.
