Fast forward two months to appraisal time. PHB: Your customer satisfaction numbers are in the toilet. Not only do you not get a raise, you are on the measured mile. If your customer sat numbers don't improve in 60 days, you will be terminated. Moreover, you still cannot travel.

And arbitrary targets for software release dates are more important than actually determining how long it will take to write the programs. At least that's how it was in our shop.

Thirtynine, it seemed strange to me, too, for Dilbert to be doing tech support.

Largely because a huge part of tech support's job is "is it plugged in?", and I'm pretty sure Dilbert would be less-than-tactful about I-D-10-T errors.

So how much does it cost to go to Elbonia? Isn't that where the "customer" is? BTW, when you're not listening to what a PHB is saying, make sure you don't go to sleep on your feet, or you might fall over and hit your head on his desk - talk about embarassing...
