What I will say is not to deride you, play the PC white knight or anything like that.
130 persons have detected the sexism in your comment. If you can´t detect it you are sexist, and you are sexist because you can´t distingish what sexism is. That does not make you a bad person or anything, is just that is horrible easier to be sexist, racist, etc. We learn here and there to make an arbitrary, illogical, biased segregation and we just continue doing it.
But I beg you to really, really try to recognize the differences. Is it not reasonable to recognize a mother as the lowest competency end-user, that is a bias like imagining that all girls want to wear pink and be princesses, and things like that.
Our society is full of overt and institutionalized sexism, the only problem with your narrative is that it gives privilege to WOMEN, not men.
any truly enlightened person in 1850 would see slavery is evil. any truly enlightened person in 2010 would see our culture is overtly anti-male. its so bad that NOT giving women free stuff is equated with oppressing them (see birthcontrol debate).
there are real gender differences. and yes one of those relates to math/language or geek/socialite. it is reasonable to assume black ppl have darker skin than whites, although not always true. it is reasonable to think of a mother when imagining the lowest competency end-user.
if you had to guess whether a mother would be more likely to warmly welcome a house guest or know C , which would you guess? women are not only socialized to be more extroverted and accomodating, they crave human intimacy more than men from a biological standpoint with neurotransmitters.
There is real and catastrophic sexism occurring in usa society, its just not against women, its in their favor. its so powerfully in their favor that the narrative paints a privileged group as a victim group.
